Transparent dropper bottles are commonly used containers in laboratories, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics, and their manufacturing process directly impacts product quality and user experience. Today, we'll break down the production process of these bottles and examine the technical details behind them.

 

Material Selection and Formulation

Transparent dropper bottles are typically made of borosilicate glass or food-grade plastic. Borosilicate glass is characterized by its high temperature resistance and strong chemical stability, making it suitable for the pharmaceutical field; plastic is lighter and commonly used in cosmetics. Specific additives are added to the formulation to improve transparency and impact resistance.

 

Mold Design and Processing

The mold is the core tool for forming dropper bottles. The design requires precise calculations of the volume scale, neck diameter, and dropper length to ensure accurate liquid dispensing. The mold surface must be polished to prevent residual impurities from affecting the product's transparency.

 

Molding Process

Glass dropper bottles are mostly manufactured using blow molding or pressing processes: blow molding involves manually or mechanically controlling the shape of the molten glass; pressing uses a hydraulic press to force the glass into the mold. Plastic bottles are commonly injection molded, where molten material is injected into the mold at high temperature and then rapidly cooled and solidified.

 

Inner Wall Treatment and Cleaning

After initial molding, the inner wall requires special treatment. Pharmaceutical-grade dropper bottles require siliconization of the inner wall to prevent liquid residue; cosmetic bottles may have a scratch-resistant coating. All processes must be completed in a dust-free environment to avoid particulate contamination.

 

Dropper Assembly Installation
The seal between the dropper and the bottle body is crucial. Metal or plastic droppers must fit precisely to the bottle opening, secured using ultrasonic welding or heat fusion processes. Some high-end products utilize a one-piece molding design to minimize interface gaps.

 

Quality Inspection and Packaging

Before leaving the factory, products undergo rigorous testing: volume deviation testing, sealing testing, temperature resistance testing, etc. Qualified products are packaged in pressure-resistant packaging; pharmaceutical-grade products may require additional sterilization treatment.
